I'm seriously considering doing a V8 swap into my '95 240, but I'm a little concerned about the extra weight on the front suspension. I have some KYB AGX shocks and Eibach Pro Kit springs for all 4 corners (not installed yet). Do you guys think these would be ok with the extra weight, or would I need to get something a bit stiffer?

I'm considering the Ford 302, and I'm guessing that it doesn't any more than an RB motor (both with transmission). Could be off, I'll look into the weight of the 302.

Yeah look up those weights. I have heard however that most v8 swaps do not weigh much more than the ka.

Yeah, I just did a quick search and it looks like the 302 weighs ~500lbs. Not sure if that is with transmission or not, but regardless, it's not much more than the KA. I've heard that the KA is basically 500 also. Maybe I won't have to worry about the suspension after all.

Even if it were 100 pounds more, I wouldn't really worry about it, as long as your car is not overlowered. The 240 can seat 5 people... that is at least 600 pounds extra in the car, and it is not like you automatically blow your shocks. It may ride a little bit lower in the front, but that would be all.

if its the same weight there shouldnt be a problem... unless you completely screw up the mounts and have it sit way too far forward.
