So, during Nissan's 2 week summer shut down, I'm going to be driving the mighty miata from Mississippi to New England. Normally when I do this, I'm in some sort of stupid rush, but this time I'll have time to do whatever. If anyone is on my route, or some sort of resemblance of a route to New England, and wants to meet up (AKA crush some beers and possibly have me stay in the guest room/couch/sister's room), or needs a ride somewhere, post up.

Last day of work is Friday June 24th, first day back is going to be Monday, July 11th. :woot:

I was actually thinking of going through the smokey mountains on the way up, simply because when I interviewed for VolksWagen in Chattanooga, I promised I'd go back in the Miata (I had an amazingly crappy yet amazingly silly dodge caliber at the time. Totally cooked the brakes on the mountain).

^I'm pretty sure I've been there and it was awesome.
I was actually thinking of swinging through Atlanta if the guys at DIY have a slot open on Saturday for dyno tuning. I'll keep you posted.

If the date you pass thru the Philly area lines up, youre certainly welcome to crash/hang out at casa Bubba. And If you happen pass thru on a non-rainy Tuesday, there's a fun local cruise night that draws huge crowds.

Did you ever get a chance to go there? I just looked back through the photos on FB where we went there after the Savannah convention and you weren't in them. I think you had to head straight home or something and didn't have time to stop.

However, I ate at the Vortex just last Sunday :) And like always, it was astonishingly delicious.

When you get to Philly let us know, I'll see if I can't get out to have a beer or two with you.

Ok, so tentative schedule is that I'll be leaving Saturday morning and crashing at the Casa del Gato with Tina on Saturday night. I guess after that I'll try and push through to CT and raid Heavy's fridge for beers on Sunday. If I feel like not driving 13-14 hours in 1 day, I'll give Joel (bubba) a call, or see if my friend in Camden, NJ wants to put me up.

The way back is a little less clear right now, but I know I'm swinging through the Cleveland area for some steamers and staying with Abs.

Ok, procured a couch in NJ, but I definitely have other options if that falls through. This is going to rock.

That's the plan! I'm thinkin I'll be there around noonish, maybe 1pm. Its only like 3 hours from Camden, unless of course I get stuck in NY for a month or 2, which seems to happen.

dammit, i'll miss your cruise through the hood. although i'm not all that mad about it. no offense, james, but i'll be on a tropical island staring at hot wimminz all day. and until you grow some lovely lady humps and a tan complexion, you'll have to take second to bikini clad hotties.

I know that isn't in this country, but I think I know the one on the left. If you find her, put in the good word buddy.

And yes, I'll still be around for the 3rd.

Beer in UT isn't as good as beer out east though, that's the problem.

That's okay. Just an excuse to explore the twisties of the Uintas on a trip to Wyoming and back. And you can still get real beer here, you just have to go to a state liquor store. I live 2 minutes from one.

Better question, why hasn't MoD come out to any NICO events? Or was it just that one that was held in UT ages ago?

Work. :squint:

It's hard to get time off doing what I do. Even harder to take time off and have money to spare. If vacation time was easier/more plentiful for me, I'd be at every meet possible. It's been way too long since I've been to a NICO meet. Or since I've taken a proper road trip anywhere. :frown:
