Help!

I have an "09" Murano. Heres the problem. At startup, the car is fine, no problems. When I ride it for about 20 minutes it starts to give a slight jerk, thats when I know the problem has started. At a stand still, (especially on an incline) I could put the petal to the metal and it will only go Three MPH for about 20ft and then slowly pick-up speed. Its really undrivable at this point. There are times when it will slowly pickup speed and and the transmission will bang-into drive as well.

Please help with any input you may have.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Hopefully it's under warranty still and you can bring it to your dealer to check out. Sounds like the transmission possibly.

It does sound like the CVT (transmission). Quickly check the CVT fluid if you haven't done so. Bring it to your dealer, the CVT should still be under warranty.

Thanks for the replies, I have it in a friends shop, he recieved codes that led him to believe it an Electronic Throttle Control". I will update our results when its resolved. In the mean time , Im drafting a nice letter to nissan corporate along with CC'ing the dealership who wanted to sell me an intake timing solenoid for $3,000. First it was 1,800 after 10 minutes it was 2400 and it then balooned to a grand total of 3150 with labor after 20 minutes of waiting for the quote. The mechanic was deceptive along with his cohort service person. After im done with these shmucks, their going to wish they never took for granted the person who showed up in confortable ripped jeans and a snow-cap that they thought they might take advantage of. perhaps if i showed up in business attire they might have thought different of me. either way, there going to be on bad-end of my s*** stick.

I hear ya AOne. Some dealers are somewhat helpful but others are plain crooks, stealers. Anyway, good luck with the repair, I hope it's nothing major.

Just a side note: Your CVT has a 10 year, 120,000 mile comprehensive warranty. If you do have CVT transmission problems, the dealer will have to replace the unit free of charge to you, regardless of their attitude. Good luck!
