I am moving down to FL, Orlando specifically, on the 26th and need to register my car down there. I understand that FL has no emissions testing but I'm sure there is a visual safety test or the like to pass. If anyone has any info for me please PM me, I would really appreciate it. After I move down I hope to meet up with some of you local CA owners also. Peace

visual? LOL

Dont worry about it. My cars got registered with out them taking a look at it. I could of had 2 RB's swapped in and all the illegal parts i could think of and no one would know.

Please let me know when you get down here. Only CA ive seen down here was Pauls old car. Ive been in many SR cars but never a CA. Plus i plan to swap a CA soon but I really want to be sure its worth it.

I will be good to see another CA guy down here to help me with my swap :D

excellent, would you mind telling me the loacation of the shop you got your car registered at? My car has some... things missing... that make it a bit less then legal perhaps.

shop? I just go to the local tag place. Theres one like 5 minutes from me or the DMV which is like 10 minutes from me. The tag place is your best bet since you would be getting the plate for Florida, the DMV would be to have a FL drivers license made.

so let me get this straight... I just show up at the tag place, tell them I want to register my car, they don't even look at it and just give me my tags? You all don't have safety inspections or anything to pass prior to that?

nah... they dont really give a sh*t you could prob take a skyline to the ones here and theyd just give you plates and sent you on the way... or they just make you turn on the lights wipers honk the horn and hazards turn signals that basic saftey stuff make sure you have belts and what not

yep, just drive up and register..they don't even look at the car! Florida RULES!

Hey when are you coming down here? The 26th of this month?!?! Do you think you could let me check out your car...it would make my swap much easier if i had a ca swapped car sitting there to compare to! I'll be starting the swap as soon as school gets out for summer (2 weeks!)...

instant message me if you get the chance...SOlsenA6

Let ME put it this way... I have an CA in an s14 with a top mount t3/t4, FMIC, and no timing belt cover.

I've had the CA for about 3 years in FL and no problem. :pface There is also numerous SR swaps in various models around Orlando, and even the RB25 in an s14 running around town.

Geez, there is nobody over here in Daytona. 2 of my friends have '98s with SRs in them, but nobody to help me with my CA. Also, they didn't do the work themselves. One had Enjuku do the work a month ago or so, and the other had the Nissan dealership do it (his parents own the dealership).

Well, I don't have it yet, this project is happening in the fall. Just gotta wait for those student loans and grants to come in in August :) I planned on doing it this spring, but the DSM needed some work. I never post on here but I always read. I have hung out with Paul a couple times and got to drive his S13 when he had it. He sold me on the CA even though he's turned into a sellout :pface I can't wait to get it going though. I told my friend with the SR powered '98 that I am going to rip him a new one with the CA. I have to carry out my threat.

But anyway, he's pretty good with that stuff too even though he has an SR.

I see you go to UCF, I will actually be going to Full Sail and will be living on University Blvd in an unofficial dorm that is shared with a lot of UCF students. like i said i would love to meet up with some local 240 guys when i get down there, regardless of how modified your car is.

oh yeah..full sail is right near where my parents house is...i actually live out closer to UCF, but you're less than 10 min away!

you'll see when you get here, there's a pretty big group of 240 guys with some nice cars! quite afew sr's but as of right now..no running ca's (that i know of)

I'm working on mine, and another ucf guy's in the process of putting his in too...we all meet every satuday night at a parking lot down on colonial dr...

anyway, let me know when you get in town, and we'll meet up somewhere and check out your car :D

Just to reiterate the ease of registering your car in FL. they will only look at safety items. I have sold a number of 240's with the Sr swap and haven't even gotten so much as a second look. Just bring the DMV your title and thats it. Good luck.

why did you decide to go to Full Male? I think my brother is the only person I have ever known who graduated there and actually got a job (and that's because he was plugged into a job before he went there)

But anyhow, welcome to Orlando and I will promise you we will show you a good time :)

I think the only ppl who would even think of inspecting ur car would be insurance people...the tag place just charges you a billion dollars and sends u on your way.

What are you studying at full sail? I'm a computer animation major at SAU up in Tennessee. But i'm taking this semester off to work and take a break off school. btw, where can i find u guys tonight? i wana talk to some ca people and sr people can make up my mind on what to swap this summer.
