Hi All

I am trying to decide which sub to go with as I will shortly be redoing my system and I am looking to maximize space

I have come across some brands and models that particularly caught my eye and I was wondering if you can render some feed, advice and reviews on any or all of the following brands and models. I have used the other brands such as JL, Kicker, Audiobahn, MTX so I want to try something new and different (meaning, I never used these brands before)

Kaption CL Series SubwoofersRE - SR Series SubwoofersMB Quart DiscusArc Audio - KAR SubwoofersEclipse SW4200 seriesJBL GT Series

I am looking to install 2 of them and power them off a premier 600 RMS x 2 ohm amplifier

Any type of feedback will be appreciated. Again not looking to bleed my ears just something that can I guess sound good and feel good (shrugs)

Thanks

P.S - Slick Roger, what are the dimensions of your box, it looks pretty small for a ported enclosure. You can probably tell I am thinking of biting your style of enclosure

Go with RE. The sub are great for SQ and get really loud.

What is your budget and how much space you want to take up?

I also have JBL coaxels on my doors(all 4), very crisp and clean

Well not really looking to take up alot of space, I dont want it to be deeper than the wheel well in the trunk. So you know where the wheel well ends (the hump part), I want to keep it within there

Hopefully that made sense

Well I already have an amp installed for mono and one 4 channel. Door and stock tweeters have all been changed

SO in terms of budget, I cant really say

mine's an 8" Kicker. Sounds like you're looking for something a little bigger though? I'm completely satisfied with the output of that one (450 watt rms kicker L7), i stuck with 8" because a 10 wouldn't have fit in that compartment. I was trying, like you, to minimize the space lost to the sub/ enclosure

MB Quart Discus line is their entry level (or used to be) so I would avoid those.

What part of toronto do you live i work downtown at Bay and Adelaide so you could check it out yourself if you want i work sun-wed 8pm-6am?

I don't even know the dimensions of that box but i want to get rid of them and possibly get a single 15"but i still want to use my cargo cover i bought and haven't used yet. its all still up in the air but what do you guys think?

i'm not very up to date on equipment anymore but I would say from what i hear JBL GT Series and RE - SR Series Subwoofers are supposed to be good if you see a 15 let me know.

Well I went to my shop yesterday and changed the single 12 to a dual 10 ported

I like it much better and I have more space...

Mikey, its a bassworx box like yours but with bassworx subs

I have a remote bass boost for the amp and I dont even have to use it now cus the bass rattles everything in the truck, depending on the song of course

I even had to turn the sub level down..

Plus, I regain so much more space in my trunk now

I know I know, I already said that tee hee
