call of duty 5

ok so a few games i want to hit on is call of duty 5 and guitar hero 4....

call of duty 5- do you think they will return to world war II like many are specualting? Personally, i think there have already been enough world war II games and the modern warfare is a very good idea for them to direct themselves. Anyone know if there has been any announcement on what their going to do?

guitar hero 4- are they going to have songs that people will actually enjoy playing? by that i mean, instead of trying to get mainstream songs that everyone knows, why not stick to the roots and put songs that are beasty for the guitar...

oh and heres a game idea for you guys....

a civil war game. a game where you are in some southern state and you have a musket. your musket is very innacurate, and it takes 2 minutes to reload. so while youre trying to relaod you can run around and bayonet people. Thats something i havent seen yet.

WWII is sort of a safe bet to fall back on with fps games but with the success of cod4 I don't see why they would need to do that. If they do another modern warfare game I would like to see one that involves something other than the middle east, Prehaps even an fps where you play as a nationality other than american or british.

I hope CoD5 wont be another WWII game, unless they somehow found a way to do something new (which I doubt is even possible at this point.) Since Infinity Ward did such an AWESOME job with CoD4, it really sucks to not see them doing it again. Are the people running Activision stupid? Did they forget how many copies their last game made?

As for GH4, who the hell cares. That game is a joke. I've already said my piece on the game here so I wont bother getting into it.

The civil war game seems like an interesting idea, but it doesnt sound action packed enough for the general populace. Most of the kids who play video games need constant explosions, curse words, abnormal amounts of violence, etc. Since the game might not sell well, it probably wouldnt get made.

The only problem with doing another nationality over the US or british forces is that you don't get all the nifty high tech gadgetry that our armed forces get to use. I don't say that to put other countries' armed forces down, but your general gamer has an expectation. Especially after CoD4's awesome story line and utilization of neat tech (What other game let's you use a Javeline shoulder launched rocket?)

And given that the Middle East is such a hot bed for conflict, it makes for a good setting for a shooter. You can expect to see a lot more games using the Middle East as its prime setting. Personally, I'd like to see a good script written around the Israeli-Palastine conflict.

CoD5's single player story should really rotate around a European theatre of combat. The SAS/Russian encounters were the best missions in CoD4, and I could easily stomach some more of that calibre of gameplay. Perhaps, if the new game was set more in the Serbian/Balkan areas. That should surely make for some good gaming.

what they should do is use the same exact forumula and graphics from cod4, and make 5 vietnam. With levels like "creek" i dont think it would be too hard.

I wouldnt mind a CoD from Vietnam. That would be pretty cool actually. I can only think of a couple games that did Vietnam OK, and I dont think theres a single one that was exceptional.

Vietnam would be interesting. It hasn't been overdone like WWII. The Vietnam setting was what made BF:V for me. It's still my favorite Battlefield game.

BF:V was the only one I could think about that I really enjoyed playing. A Vietnam game with an accurate and interesting story with the graphics that are available today would be great, and would probably make a killing on the market. Coming off a game like CoD4 can only help them the next time around, even if they have different people making it.

you could have a platoon (multiplayer co-op) sent into the jungle to do patrols, ambushes, etc. You could have another level be the attack on the us embassy. lots of good potential.

I thought that they confirmed this a long time ago, that same people who did 3 are doing 5 and its going to be WWII again.

all i can say is letting those people do another game = epic fail

an old school pre-1900s war game would be interesting, but it would have to be done right. maybe something along the lines of the patriot would make a good game? haha, who knows. its one of those things that the idea sounds cool, but theres just no way to pull it off successfully. now a vietnam game, that sounds bada55. wwII is fun and all, but its way over played. another modern warfare would be cool, but it would eventually have the same effect and just become the same old same old. what i wouldnt mind seeing is the guys who did cod4 doing a future warfare game. not like 30th century future, but something with a little higher evolution in weaponry.

agreed. after thinking about it i realized that there is in fact a game coming out that will be the future warfare game i hope to see. last i saw Tiberium looks like its gonna fit the genre

i guess it could work, but ww2 is just beat to death. And not enough guns, each country only used a handful of weapons mainly.

whoever suggested the vietnam thing, thats a good idea.

i heard gh4 might be "not" Rock Band i think theyre going to try to add different instruments. but the songs will probably still suck.
