Car: That would be obvious....

Post

I have a 98 240sx s14 with 66k miles on it. It is in great shape for it's age. It was perfectly stock when I got it and I have started doing some light mods to it over the past few weeks. I would like some ideas as to what i should head towards next. I have tried to purchase "high bang for the buck" items to get the most from my investment. I think the interior stuff is complete as of this weekend, but the performance section could use some work. Please keep in mind that i have no intention of swapping to an sr20 in the next few years. Once the car hits 120K, I am going to be looking into the RB. The factory wheels are fine for me because I want a sleeper. No real external hint of power except for the stainless can. Here is what I have done so far:

Performance and Suspension--------------------------Apex N1 single cat-back w/silencerFront strut crossmemberWhiteline blade adjustable swaybars front and rearB & M short shiftermomo performance boot and air-leather shift knob----figured if i changed the shifter, why put the stock junk on top.

Audio and alarm----------------Panasonic MP3/WMA head unitQuart 6' separates in the doorsQuart 4' separates in the rear deckJLAudio 8W6 in a very small, stiff, and light custom formed boxCustom double deck amp rack above the rear axle's centerlinextant 2100 > to the subxtant 4180 > to the mids and highsalpine 8027a sec w/ a bunch of sensors and goodies

Onhold/shipping/or going in this weekend----------------------------------------AEM Short Ram intake w/ sensor adapteralpine 8027a sec w/ a bunch of sensors and goodiesgoodridge steel braided brake linestint

All said and done, I have spent a total of 1698.00 on everything done to the car.

Thanks in advance for any good suggestions!C

unless someone drives up to you and carfully reads the name brand on your tires (which obviously doesn't happen lots) no one would know. you don't have to get 12 inch tires to have performance tires either, and tires are great bang for the buck seeing as how they are the only actuall part of your car that touches the ground, hench being very important.

haha did u read his post? is the AEM intake on hold? cuz i think id take the Injen intake over the AEM. if not it doesnt matter, both are quality brands. if u want a bang for ur buck nitrous is always that, just make sure u kno what ur doing

Yeah, the intake should be here in the next 2 weeks. They are waiting on the air intake temp sensor adapter for the 98 240sx. One of those things. And i actually heard the opposite about the Injen vs. AEM. But it is just an intake anyway. As long as it has a well designed cone filter.

Nitrous is pretty much out of the question since I don't want to kill my engine. This is a daily driver and all.

I H8 UR DSM - What kind of pics do you want? The car is supposed to look completely stock with the exception of the exhaust which was unavoidable really. I suppose I could do some pics of the audio stuff but that would be pretty tame since I have everything but the radio hidden inside the interior of the car. And the amps and box were built for form and function not flash. Let me know and I will snap some shots of whatever youwant to see (on the car that is...)

I realize you said you wanted to keep it stock but, a nice set of springs really adds to the look of the car. I recomend the sportline kit and some kyb agx's for shocks. If your looking for more power on the KA get some cams, but it doesnt make sence to invest in that motor if your gona get an SR later. I would go with things that will stick with the car, like suspension. Good luck and I wana see pics too, I love the 97-98's
