I'm just wondering if any of you guy can answer a quick question for me. I've painted my calipers with the High Temp Engine paint from Dupli-color(1200 degree) and left it over night for drying. I have 4 coats on it and now when I checked, the paint is dried up but it felt weird. It's dried but not hard enough...feel kinda soft on the inside i think. WHat should I do before i apply the clear coat.

Sounds like the coats you put on are way to thick. It's better to put on multiple very thin coats then a few thick coats. I'd let it sit for a another day or two.

yeah, when you put it on, just mist it like if you were spraying windex on a window, then make a few passes per coat you do, allow 30-60 minutes between coats, and i wouldnt do so many next time either, 4 is alot of paint. also, get a metal brush wheel that you can put on a drill, and get all the old paint, rust, oil, etc... off before you paint them

I havn't used that exact hi-temp paint before, but most of them are quite 'thin'(runny). I bought a $7 can of caliper paint from the auto store and I wouldn't put less than 4 coats on of that stuff. I second the application process tho-more thin coats is always better than less thick coats.

Yah make sure you let those suckers dry completely before re-installing them. You'll be kicking yourself when you see it flaking/bubbling if you don't.

It will come out ok. You dont need paint of that high temp. I used duplicolor primer u8nder my caliper paint and it looks great.....all 4 wheels of course. Most paints above 700 degree's have ceramic flakes. It doesnt fully cure until heated up. when you run them it will cure and look good. As long as you cleaned it good.
