I think there's probably not a lot of people here who have (or anyone who will admit that they have).

They're remarkably silly, and very obvious. Probably a better idea to properly refinish and detail the existing calipers (which we can help you with).

Welcome aboard!

I 100% agree about the plastic covers. I saw them in PepBoys, they were expensive & looked real crappy. I had good results with Dupli-Color brush on caliper paint. A pint can was less than $25. I used 4 coats, & I have enough left for about 5 more cars. I used the blue. It dried glossy, but not too shiny. This was last Oct. & they still look fresh painted & clean off easy. It's important to prep everything real well with brake cleaner & mask off. I just put white Nissan decals on last month & I like the look. I'd show you mine, but I'm embarrassed to admit I forgot how to transfer from Photobucket.

Paint still looks good after 2 years, preparation and the right paint is the key.

Holy ton of photos, haha. Great gallary, as a fellow Blue Coupe owner, love looking at them.

But was their a reason you decided to tape off the pad-wear-noise maker thingys? Does getting paint on them not allow them to screetch or you just thought "better safe than sorry"?

I painted the top of my pads though, our stock calipers are just too tiny to leave that space unchanged, haha.

The *correct* way is to remove the caliper, pull the pads, disconnect the line, remove all the shims, and mask off the inside of the caliper (seals and pistons).

Most folks don't want to go to that extent, but if you do it when you're putting fresh pads in, you can save a lot of duplicate work.
