Hey guys, has anyone out there tried the caliper covers? I've looked at the brembro and MPG caliper covers and checked youtube for solutions and install tips. The job seems simple enough, either way going with covers or painting. Any experience with these issues? What are the real pros and cons? Not what the ad states.

I hope you are not serious about this... :facepalm:

Real cons ---> FAKE

Just paint the calipers yourself or have someone do it professionally and you will be more than happy.

ive seen a couple of people who have and they like it , it looks kool ,ive even seen people customize the sticker like instead of brembo , it says their name or something ! if you like it go get them, as long as it makes you happy , thats the fun of building our cars ! hey if we all like the same thing we wouldnt be different and we would all be the same and that would be weird !!

Imagine someone taking an Altima and putting an M35 badge on it lol. And they simply look fake(not as in brand fake, but as though they are plastic things that don't belong on a car), or maybe it's just the ones I've seen.

But to each their own.

I think he would not be asking for advice is he had the money to put BBK's on. No offense to M35SFIREMEDIC but most of us here don't have or don't want to spend that kind of money on brakes.

So according to you, painting the calipers is fake as it is to put actual fake covers? :nono: :werd:

Can someone explain to me how exactly painting calipers is "fake"?...calipers have come in different colors for a long time now, it's just fashionable now. How exactly is a different color caliper explicitly associated with BBK?

Hey pal no offense taken. I'm not dropping 1k on bbk's. Iwas looking at the mpg website and the cars in the pic gallery look cool. I figure it would prob be 200 bucks either way with professionally paint or Mgp covers.

The "fake" issue was putting the fake caliper covers on, not actually painting them.

I painted mine the same color as my car. Was going to go with a blue since I am a blue freak. I have all blue led's on the inside and trunk. Also going to get blue leds in the wheel wells installed. So was going to go with blue calipers but i changed my mind & just matched them to the exterior color.

I found a guy that can paint my calipers for 150+ tax. Pics coming soon. White calipers should look nice.

For that price you could have them powder coated with 8000 color choices.... And white... Thats like having bad dandruff and only wearing black shirts.

It's helpful advise heat vs paint vs a baked on coating. But your certainly going to have fun cleaning white calipers, perhaps so much fun that the white paints comes off and your back to square one.

I don't allow a lot of brake dust to build up on my wheels, I figure whatever color I choose there will be cleaning involved. If i'm back to square one after all is said and done .... it's only a buck fifty... lesson learned. Tks for advice.

When I did my brakes I just painted mine black - looks great, not overkill or gaudy...
