Hi,

I am trying to surprise my boyfriend for X-mas with some red calipers. I do not know anything about cars which is why I am here. He has a black infiniti G35, which he adores. He recently got a fiber carbon hood and had his grill and rims painted. I overheard him saying he wanted to get some red calipers but they were a couple thousand dollars (way out of my price range). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has used caliper covers or painted their calipers? Also does it look nice or cheap? And, would you be offended if someone bought you caliper covers or a paint kit? Also, he wanted the red calipers but looking at his rims, do you think red would be too much? Thanks!

I've used regular high-temp paint on calipers with decent results. Hell, on my Maxima I would spray silver hi-temp paint in the cans lid and use a cheap paintbrush to touch them up. lol

Please do not use the caliper covers. Painting them would be the next best option.

I was thinking the same thing. I think the caliper covers may affect heat diffusion and could warp rotors, etc.
