caliper bolt!

Help, i had no idea the caliper pins were not identical. One of them has a small rubber sleeve near the end, is that top or bottom? the one with the sleeve is gold while the other is nickel

Do you have both sides apart? If not, check the other side.

Both have rubber bellows but after looking through the Nissan manuals I found the Maxima that showed the rubber tip at the bottom. The QX4 does not show any difference in the pins in all the manuals that I have including a paper book published by Infinity.

See if you can look into the hole where the pins go for a mating surface or seal.

i took both sides apart (doh!) , so the rubber tip goes on bottom?

Like I posted, the QX4 blowup does not distinguish the rubber tipped one, but looking at other Nissan brakes the one showed up at the bottom.

Try feeling gently as you insert the rod in both positions, that rubberized area should seat. With a bright light see if you can see inside the torque member.
