easiest solution to get around legal issues = drive smart

i highly doubt if a officer opened your hood and saw a stock sr that he would even know. stock sr's look unmodded.

very true, somebody i know that had an sr was pulled over, and the cops saw the stock sr and couldnt tell the difference

and this other time, a bunch of people got pulled over, and everybody has sr's and since the guy with the ka was the only one that was different he got a ticket

^^^ MOST cops dont know swaps. roseville cops do. most CHP do. you can bet most la cops do. thats not really the big issue. when in doubt, lot of cops will just give you a ref ticket. then your screwed unless you can swap back to stock quickly

if its tagged, insured, has like a front plate, isnt stupid loud, no huge BOV, and drives and looks like every other car it shouldnt be a problem

just up to the OP if its worth the risk, and yea depends on where you live

i head a rumor that its possible to have an sr or rb or what not reffed if it has all the smog stuff on it, passes the visual and sniffer that it gets a placard

but, since it wasnt offered in the u.s. i dont think thats possible and that rule only applies for class to class swaps and engines offered in the u.s.
