News out of sunny CA is that it needs a $7 billion loan. Alright, I understand we are in the midst of a financial situation, but here in MI, we've dealt with budget issues for quite a few years now due to the situation in the auto industry. We never cried for the federal government to help us by providing a loan. Why does CA need to cry about it to the fed gov? Seems like a typical Californian response to a tough situation if you asked me.

Ugh.

Cut CARB. Sell Coronado Island to the Haitians. Give the Hollywood studios a tax hike.

Who CARES.

CA needs to fix its own problems, I'm pretty certain they're a result of poor management and a lack of leadership.

Yes, if your state is in a budget crisis, you either have 1 or 2 problems. Either you aren't generating enough revenue or you're spending way too much, or you've got both. So guess what, start suspending programs and closing offices for awhile. Cut in areas where you can immediately. Find areas to cut in the next few months. It can be done, we've done it.

Plus, CA is a big area where the financial situation is taking place due to the ridiculous home bubble that was created out there. That's a problem you guys need to take care of in your state. Oh, and that $7 billion, if you get it, I want it all back from your state, plus interest. Preferably in cash or the very best wines that CA has to offer. Or maybe free tickets to the movies for 10 years since Hollywood is ripping people off.

CA = more than half the time

The biggest problem out here is a totally uninformed electorate. For the last thirty years people have been brainwashed to believe that bond issues have no affect on their taxes. There is no discretionary money left in the budget because the money has been dictated to things that sounded good and the promoters said was financed through bonds, not taxes. No one has ever explained where the money to pay back those bonds, plus the interest, is coming from.

I live here, am looking for a job, have never accepted a dime of unemployment or state assistance, and as far as I'm concerned this state SHOULD go belly up. Then maybe those of us who are willing to work will be able to. Hopefuly all the deadbeats will go somewhere else when this state can't support them and their "feel good" irresponsible initiatives any more.
