New to this forum, so I'm not sure if this belongs in another section, but I'm just trying to get some help asap. Now this may seem like an odd request, but I need someone with a California only 1995 240sx factory manual transmission and OBD 2 to take a picture of the under hood emissions sticker. Has to be from California, 95, manual, and OBD 2 to work for what I need. Before anyone claims no 95 is OBD 2, trust me some are and i have done hours of research on the subject.

I recently completed a 5 speed conversion and Kouki front end swap, but didn't pull the emissions sticker off the old hood I sold (not that it would work anyways since I now have a manual car). The smog shop won't pass me because according to them my car doesn't exist in the system and even the state referee couldn't find my car in the computer to see what to test and what it's supposed to have. I think they're just being lazy, but it doesn't matter since I need my car to pass smog in order to be street legal.

I realize this probably sounds dumb and is weirdly specific, but it's the only thing preventing me from getting my car back on the road. Also, I'm working on attaching a photo of what it looks like, but here's a link for what it's worth.

That sounds pretty strict. Do you know of any other testing facilities that might let that slip?

Hmmm, I have the car, but mine comes in at OBD-I scanning in my area. I have heard there are different rules in different counties, like bay area going for the more restrictive testing. I'll look and see if I have such a sticker, but I don't think I do. Give me a day to forget, one to remember and one to take the actual photo if the sticker does indeed exist. Also, try another shop and discuss the visual test procedure and OBD-I or OBD-II prior to handing over cash.

Okay, I got around to popping the hood and looking. While I have a few stickers in there, none of them seem CARB or SMOG related. I have a sticker for the radiator warning, the spark plugs, air conditioner, another sticker (I've already forgotten), and on the hood is just a DOT sticker. Nothing about catalyst and such that I've seen on my OBD-II cars.

I do have the OBD-II port on the passenger side near the transmission tunnel. I do have the EVAP canister near the air intake (not passenger rear wheel well). Mine is dated early 1994 in the drivers side door jam, but I don't recall the specific date. March or May I think. Anyway, I get smogged as OBD-I, so they check timing and idle, and put the sniffer in the exhaust. They do not connect to the OBD-II port.
