Hi all,

I wanted to find out how much interest there is among Cali members to book some track time.

An open track day is usually sponsored by a licensed racing school or club for liability reasons. I have never myself participated in one of these track days, but I would love to take my A/C to find its limits. :ohno:

Here is a list of events for the NC Racing Club: http://www.ncracing.org/events.php. As you can tell the Laguna Seca track days in December are all booked up. Cost wise it doesn't seem unreasonable at all.

I figure a track in central Cali would be best for folks coming from both North and South. Who would be interested in participating? Does anyone belong to a racing club that might want to sponsor a Nico event?

Costs would vary depending on the track and the number of participants. As an example, the cost at Laguna Seca with Northern California Racing Club (link above) is about $180 for 4, 25-30 minute sessions. Time costs less at other tracks like Thunderhill (which is way up North) and Buttonwillow (near Bakersfield).

If you don't have any track experience, you would be limited to the Driving School with the Northern California Racing Club, which isn't appealing.

We would need to either join up with an existing racing school/club or find one to sponsor the event. For liability reasons, I don't think any track would let us just come and drive on the track as-is in our street cars.

Can anyone who has participated in a track day chime in?
