Ah, here we go on this topic.

First of all, we've had a half a dozen or so members promise to post their MPG numbers after they put in their CAIs, but so far I haven't seen any of them actually do so (hint hint hint).

Second, I personally don't understand the logic of expecting a CAI to increase fuel economy. You're just drawing colder air into the throttle body, not changing the amount of fuel you're expending. (plus, people with a CAI rarely keep their foot out of it after they put it on, thus negating any gains they may have experienced)

well after my aem install my MPG went from 31 MPG to 29 MPG but of course i didnt keep my foot out of it.

i just refueled again today and i am going to try and keep my foot out of it.

i will post results this weekend or early next week on how it does being very conservative.

give me the strength to ignore the honda civic sitting next to me at the stop light.

I don't know if you will get BETTER gas millage at first with either one and when you install one you will know what I mean When I installed mine like many others on the board it dropped a mile or two depending on driving habits but geeze it's still pretty good especially when I compare it to my Titan! Now that I have had it for a while, I'm pretty much back to what it was so I can't say either one will improve your millage but I think its all on the way YOU drive......I'm way too crazy!I think you will like it with or without the improvement in gas millage only because of the improvement in the way the car runs.

yea intakes will usually decrease your mileage because you will want to hear it more and more. Hell now I shift really late since I installed my custom intake. I will let my cars RPMs run up into the 5-6000 range before I shift now.

i have not confirmed yet but i have been very conservative on this tank of gas just one relapse and seems to be going lightly on gas. right at 100 miles traveled and just getting to the 3/4 tank mark so it seems to be getting back on target

Well, theoredically, you should get better gas mileage since the air coming in is more dense and colder. The engine likes this and is able to lean out the mixture more. If someone would compare before and after with the same habits, it should show an improvment.

29.93 MPGhad the one slip with the civic.had a mad full throttle 15 mile jaunt to the emergency room that killed my results for this tank.

might say though i got the front wheels spinning pretty good on that jaunt
