Hey guys,

So I put in my Fujita CAI a few months ago.... Everything seemed fine. In the first few days, I felt vibration in my brake and accelerator pedal when in DRIVE, so I put my hood, wiggled the CAI around, tried again and it seemed the problem was gone.

Yesterday, the vibration started again. I pop the hood, I find that the rubber hose connecting the CAI to the engine fell out on the end connected to the CAI.

Basically, what I want to know is.... what this hose does and could my engine now be damaged due to this? I have no idea how long the hose was off (hopefully it was only from when the vibration started again, which was yesterday). Right now, the vibration seems to hae gone down a lot. But I can still feel some -- hopefully it's only my paranoia.

Comments/advice?

Also, I wanted to know if I were to bring my V to the dealer for an oil change and they see the CAI. Would they mark it down soemwhere and could possibly lead to voiding my warranty? I know that they would have to prove that it was due to my CAI that the problem came from. But would they note it?

Depends on which hose it was. But as long as you reconnect it there should be no problems.

Possible they could blame something down the road on the CAI but they probably wouldn't write it down. So if anything goes wrong wit the engine, then replace the OEM stuff before taking it to the dealership.

I'm going to steal bulldog's isntalled CAI pics to show you. Thanks, bulldog

The arrow points to the side the hose fell loose on.

Also, anyone know what the vibration is due to? I'm positive the vibration mount was correctly put in place.

Its either emissions or IACV related, either way its fine as long as you put it back on.

I could be wrong, but I think it's a vacuum hose. As long as your check engine light didn't come on then you should be fine. But like the guy above said, if anything breaks in your engine replace the CAI with the OEM box...

The hose that fell off is for the PCV valve. PCV stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation. There are gases that build up in the crankcase that need to be evacuated for the engine to work properly. Because of emissions they direct those gasses back through the combustion chamber so they can be burned up and cleaned.

I have the Fujita and I didn't just connect the hose without clamping it. You need to get some worm clamps, circular clamps that you tighten with a screw, and put them on either end so the hose doesn't fall off.

About the vibrations, I say enjoy them. Now you know your car isn't completely stock.

mines never fallen off, no clamps........... vibration is normal, after i installed the fujita on ours i felt it too, the stock intake not only makes the car quieter but gets rid of that vibration.
