Has anyone had any problems with their cai sucking in water? I never had a cai, i always had a short ram in my trucks. I get a lil worried about sucking in water.

You would have to be in two feet or more of water before it should be an issue in the V

thats what i was thinking, only thing that concerend me was that i saw a picture of installs when i did a search and it seams like the filter goes in the wheel well, i just couldnt tell how protected it was, but thanks for the help, makes me feel safer in buying one, now i just have to decide which one. I have always been a K&N fan but they dont have one

Nothing will happen, ive had mine in for several months now and haven't had a hiccup. just dont go through puddles that look too deep. Remember the filter can get wet, jut not submerged.

AEM makes a Bypass Valve for their intake you can use for heavy water ingestionhttp://www.dcsports.com/ViewCa...ID=20

I drove my 1987 300ZX in a flood once, the intake is located right around where a CAI would be on a Versa, and yes, it took in a bit of water (luckilly, it didn't stall). The water was over the front bumper.

You do have to drive into a rather significantly deep puddle to suck up water. Simply driving on a wet road won't be enough, because the filter is in front of the front wheels, not behind.

So yeah, don't be like the brilliant guy here in WA who drove his BMW into a puddle up to his window sills during a storm last year.
