I'm all for getting better fuel economy, but the way CAFE was written and executed, it really wasn't very good. Classic government.
Its a big reason why trucks are so freakin massive these days.
If the government REALLY wanted better fuel economy, they could do their part by designing and maintaining better roads, merges, timing traffic lights to ease stop and go, etc... but they don't do any of that.
