I just watched them. they're pretty short. I thought the roads/courses were awesome and I'd love to drive them some day. But I thought the videos themselves were rather silly. Essentially a professional driver very familiar with each course driving a prepped car (presumbly fresh brakes, fluids, and good rubber) with no traffic. The commercial implies Cadillac's fancy named technology made the impressive sounding course times possible. Yeah, right. And let me to introduce you to my wife....Morgan Fairchild.Jesda wrote:http://ats-vs-world.cadillac.com/
Anyone watch this web series yet? Two guys and a film crew take the ATS to some of the world's harshest and most exotic conditions. They meet some interesting people, learn about the culture, ride camels, make clothing, learn to cook, learn about history, and do a bit of driving.
The part about Monaco, unexpectedly, was a bit of a bore. The rest was fascinating, especially China. They should host Top Gear USA.
I think you missed the point.Bubba1 wrote: I chuckled about the "dangerous" high winds in the first course. Judging by the few trees, it looked like they had a tail wind most of the time, plus the wind didn't seem all that dangerous if a helicopter could ride along so smoothly close beside or above the car.
Oh, I think I got the point. In fact I thought Cadillac did a wonderful job making me want to visit those places with a car. I also think the ATS looked pleasant both inside and out. BUT (and I'm talking kim kardassian jumbo sized but) I thought the commercial part, which is the heart of the video, not the travelog, pushing the time trial aspect was silly and contrived. C'mon. Do you really think all that technology will enable an average American driver to average triple digit speeds in a lap around Monaco's F1 circuit?Jesda wrote:I think you missed the point.Bubba1 wrote: I chuckled about the "dangerous" high winds in the first course. It was two bros doing cool sh*t in cool places. The car is a secondary character. Watch it like a brief travel documentary.
I agree and that part bored me, but quite honestly I don't find motorsports to be very interesting at all. I was far more interested in hearing about how the tunnel in China was built, how fabric is dyed, and how dumplings are made.Bubba1 wrote:thought the commercial part, which is the heart of the video, not the travelog, pushing the time trial aspect was silly and contrived.
