A very enjoyable article from Motor Trend (they've really improved since changing editors) comparing the Eldorado to the Caribbean and the Premiere.

That self-leveling Packard suspension is brilliant!

When did this happen?! I got MT free for years, and it was always a useless mess. More obsessed with big glossy photos and headlines than proper articles.

I find Road and Track an easier read while I'm in the bathroom

That's pretty cool. I'd like to see something similar in a pre-war/depression era when everyone was "up-and-coming". Personally, I've always had a soft spot for Hudson's.

Agree. But if I ran out of toilet paper while taking a dump, Motor Trend would traditionally get used first before R&T. ;)

It's an interesting article, though a bit disappointing that they excluded the Imperial. I'm not a huge fan of big heavy mid 50's american land barges, but I always thought the Packard Caribbeans were a little better than the others.

I just restarted my motor trend subscription by trading in some frequent flyer miles. I'll try to keep an open mind, but it's not easy to forgive a magazine that named the Chevy Vega and Mustang II as Cars of the Year.

Styling-wise, it's a tough choice. They all have features I love. The Lincoln looks more modern, and you can see hints of what would become the Thunderbird (a GORGEOUS car). But the Cadillac looks more classy overall. The details are better and even though the nose is a little dated-looking by comparison, it has nicer lines and the whole car comes together better overall.

Or the Honda Ridgeline as Truck of the Year.
