Cable/adapter to fit 94-96 CD unit in my 1993 Q45?

In the archives it was mentioned that IOS stocked a cable/adapter that would allow a CD/cassette unit from a 94-96 to be retrofitted into a 1990-93 Q45. I asked Joe about this at IOS, and he was not aware of such a part, but said if I found one he would be interested to know about it.

Do I recall from several years back that one of you gurus was manufacturing such a converter cable? There's a 96 unit on ebay right now that I was hoping to install in my 93 - my cassette died years ago and now my radio is failing. Any advice on my options would be appreciated.

Are you referring to putting a newer Bose Nissan/Infiniti In-Dash single CD head unit in your Q?

If so, it's been done a couple times, but according to an older thread by Jesda, the volume level/sound wasn't as good as when it was done in a 94-96.

IIRC, the adapter is actually designed for adding a single DIN in dash CD player to the 300ZX in dash single DIN cassette radio.

I have found a single CD unit that is the exact model as you have pictured as being installed in your older Q45 (at least as pictured when you posted it 5 years ago in the link you supplied to me). So, I sent Joe at IOS a note to see if he can procure Nissan part number 24028-3B300 that will allow me to adapt this 96 unit to fit my 93 Q45. If he can, I will give it a try!
