Obama or McCain, go with what you know, name the team. Here is what I am thinking, a two key positions and people;

McCainSecDef Colin PowellWhat better way to show the critics his adminstration is not going to be the same old program than bringing on board the guy that said F-this and walked away honor and credibility intact. Obviously his military service is one hell of a resume. I like the idea of getting a former Joint Cheif of staff in the chair for a change, somebody who really knows how things work.

SecState Joe Lieberman or Bill Richardson Yeah, democrats but sharp dudes and if any Republican could reach across the divide it's McCain. i know a lot of blood red Republicans would light torches and storm the White House but it's time to grow the **** up and stop the mindless hate and dogma. Surround yourself with good people, a diverse mix that can give you a broader read on this issues. A room full of sycophants does you no good.I was really shocked, even for Democrats, the way they threw these men under the bus. If they had hoisted Richardson to the Democratic ticket I would have a stong leaning towards voting for him but he was too calm, intelligent and normal to ever survive in the loony bin that is the modern democratic party. I really enjoyed the way Lieberman fought back when the DNC tried to make him walk the plank. I don't agree with a lot of his positions but he stands strong for what he beleives in and I respect him even if I disagree with many of his opinions. I could see him at the head of an effective independent party. The only way a true third party is going to get traction is to have some big names. With all the disillusion spreading through both parties as the leadership leans to the fringe there is certainly a cadre of Governors, Senators and other party members ready to migrate to the middle. They would likely be moderates tired of the partisan BS so I hope they do so as this would lead to a very strong party if it could just get on its feet.

Colin Powell retired saying he was through with public life.Instead. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff

Expect Richard Danzig, who served as Navy Secretary under President Clinton, to play a major role, possible Sec. Defense under Obama.

I would distance myself from any previous homeland security guys. From the citizen level they look completely clueless. Right or wrong they carry impressional baggage at best, concrete quantifiable inneptitude at worst.

A man like Powell will never stop working despite waht he says. If he gets the call from a president, I honestly think regardless of party but rather if he measures the man to be right will work for him.

We need to get a secretary of energy in there who is willing to shake things up no doubt. I am out of my depth to make a recommendation but it is going to be a very important spot.

I dont think the Republicans will seriously pick current Senators as cabinet members that will tip the scales further into the favor of the Democrats.

Here is my guessMcCain:1. Rudy Giuliani Attorney General of the United States.2. Mitt Romney United States Secretary of the Treasury

If Obama makes it, I would have wanted him to pick John Edwards as Attorney General.

But that is no longer likely.

Eliot Spitzer seems to have a lot of free time on his hands. Wait, oh that's right, never mind.

I'm going to say in the kitchen and they'll be solid oak with a dark stain.

Honestly, its too far out to even think about this, nor is there really any way to rationalize it.
