I've been getting rattles from inside dash near face level air vents nearest to left and right front windows. They started within two months from purchase of my I35 Sport.

Question is whether Sport models among Infiniti models (Maximas, too) have more rattles than non-Sport tuned models, given stiffer suspensions. I also wonder if older suspension design in Nissan's Ciefero(sp?) lineup, of which Maximas & I30/35's are a part, may contribute to more vibrations transmitted to cabin & fixtures.

Stiffer suspensions always bring a greater risk of rattles.

BUT since you drive a new I35 (congratulations BTW, great car), that is still under warranty i would bring it to the dealer ASAP.

There are many ways to chase down and fix rattles, and your dealer knows them all, due to our demanding Infinti clientele.

it seems the 5th gen maxima's/i30/i35's are plagued with dash rattling. A lot are from the area where the passenger A-pillar, dash and window come into contact. I'm sure pulling the dash apart will be the only way to find and fix your rattle. I would suggest just taking it back to the dealer and taking advantage of that warranty.

you do ask an interesting question. I could only imagine that with a stiffer suspension other things will begin to absorb the vibrations causing rattles sooner.

G35 has similar problems and there are service bulletins on some issues. There may be similar bulletins on I35??

It's the kind of issue that may take several trips to the dealer to fix. Frustrating.

i bet it's really frustrating for the dealer. it must cost them a lot of time(money) just to find an annoying noise. the customer has every right to a good quiet vehicle to bad it's at the expense of everyone in the long run.
