I actually just changed mine out this past weekend. Its not that hard to do, I actually changed it without a DIY or anything. Im not sure how much it costs to have the dealer change it for you but the filter itself is only about $13.
First pop off the panel on the left side of the passanger foot well.
Next you actually have to remove the entire glovebox to get to where the filter is. There are about 8 screws total, IIRC,that you have to take out. 3 inside on the top front, 2 inside the glovebox on the top part, and 3 more under the glove box toward the very front of the footwell.
Then you have to pop off the cover on the side of the glovebox/dash board on the side closest to the door. After that you can slide the glove box back but it is still connected by the wires for the valet switch and the glove box light. you have to disconnect the wiring harness to disconnect it from the glovebox. This was the hardest part for me as you cant pull the glove box out far enough to really see how they are connected.
The one for the light comes off easily but the switch was harder. you have to pop off the little yellow cap and use a small flathead screwdriver and insert it in a small opening to get it to pop out of the harness.
Once the glove box is removed completely the air box is located all the way in the left corner of the footwell. You cant see everything because it is blocked by other parts of the air conditioning. There is a long thin "door" with a small handle that opens from the bottom and you can then remove.
You should now see the filter. There is a little tab on the filter that you can use to remove it with but you kinda have to squish the filter at the top and bottom to get it to come out. (The filter is taller than the opening)
Then just reverse the process to put the filter back in the air box.
Sorry I dont have any pictures, but i wasnt planning on doing a write up and am writing this purely off of memory.
Hope this helps.
