ok i am doing some work on a friend or mine's r32 gtr. its a 1993 (not sure if this helps, but...) hes had the car for a while and said it had heat a little in the beggining just not that hot.

now he has none. he put a koyo rad in the car and the heat slowly went away. now with the heat, on cold air is coming out of the vent. i tried using the coolant spill free funnel i use from work. cracking the bleeder screw open the car is having no oveheating problems, just has no hot air.

i have a 240 i am aware to look for the valve on the heater hose to open and close. i could not seem to find this on his car. i figured the valve on the gtr may be electric. not sure because it has a digital climate control.

any help please the car is not over heating and the heater hose off the heater core is not heating up with the car at operating temp. is there a fuse for the valve or something?

thank you guys so much for any help. tried searching.

I have heard that Koyo aluminium radiators are crap for keeping heat in the car, but good for keeping the engine nice and cool.

Does this happen after the car has come up to full operating temperature? If the hoses to the heater core behind the firewall don't heat up, I have no clue what it could.

If the hoses do get warm, maybe the switching unit behind the dash is not working properly. For example when you switch the climate control up to say, 28 degrees, you should hear something behind the dash cycle, to open the valve to let the warm coolant into the heater core.

I really can't tell ya how to fix it, but I can give you an idea what may be wrong with it.

Sorry, mate.

Sorry and thank you to mod.

Ok well the car is between 172-183 which is operating temp for the car. After warming it up the lower hose is warm. The heater hoses off the heater core are not hot.

The thermostat could be stuck open was suggested to me as a possible issue. I am going to change the thermostat next week and rebleed the system.

The valve on the heater hose could be stuck closed is the only other problem that i could think of. Does anybody know were it is located, or if the digital climate control opens and closes the valve manually or electronically? (If it is electronic is it fused?) again thank you for any info all suggestions welcomed
