I've recently noticed my 2008 altima coupe cabin heating isn't working normally. Due to being in Minnesota I've always had the temp set to 90 for my work commutes. Now that it has gotten warmer I've noticed that when I turn the temperature down the heat is still coming out as it was when it was set to 90.

Possibly related, at the end of January the body control module went out on the car. Dealership replaced it and I thought all was working fine. Again due to the MN winter and my 20 min commute to work being 90% of my travel I've not had to reduce the heat for a while.

From what I've found out is that the heat is blowing in at ~120 degrees whether the dial is set to 90 or 62. If I turn it down to 60 or 61 the temp drops to that level, but if I go back up to 62 or higher the thermometer reads 120 again.
I've tried cleaning the temp sensor that is under the start button on the drivers side, it was dusty and dirty but didn't seem to be corroded or visibly broken.

Any ideas on what may be causing this issue?

I'll add more details
car has ~90k miles
It has had no major issues, only other things that have needed fixing are the tire pressure sensors.
I've tried turning the heat off, restarting the car then turning the heat back on.
Starting the car at a lower temp setting like 70 degrees, having the AC on and off while changing the temp but nothing helps.
