Just brought home an 08 FX 35 RWD with only 14,000 miles on it. I needed the old body style because the 09 up has 1.5" less headroom and I don't fit in it, so I was real lucky to find this gem, it's just like new! Haven't read all the manuals yet but is there a cabin filter in these cars? Anything else I should know about these cars? Coming from an 08 Toyota Highlander, which was nice but a totally different car comparred to the FX.

Oh and is the NAV updateable?

Thanks.B

A Cabin filter? Why yes, as a matter of fact, there is a cabin filter. In fact, the dealer charges $30 for it and $59 to install it!

Anything else you should know? Why yes, as a matter of fact. The dash will most likely bubble up soon, but Infinity has extended the warranty on it so you'll get a new one for free. :yesnod

Update the navigation system? I'll get back to you on that one, unless someone else chimes in! :)

Nav disc can be purchased (yep, another unnecessary expense) :( .

No need to pay the dealer to install your cabin filter - In fact, here's more info than your dealer techs even know about your FX: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/FX/2008_FX45-35/

See page 107, section "atc".

Thanks AZ! Yes I know I can easily change a cabin filter, in fact it looks like the same one as the Highlander, which I have a box of in the garage. I do a lot of my own wrenching when I have time, but I do like to take the newer stuff to the dealer sometimes, and throw them a bone now and then.

I see you are in AZ. I bought my FX in Scottsdale and brought it home to Tucson. Looking forward to enjoying this car!

Do most owners use premium fuel as recommended?

Awesome, glad to have you here. Did you buy from Infiniti of Scottsdale?

I'd stay at mid-grade at a minimum - Remember, we have crappy gas in AZ. Our "premium" (91) is everyone else's "midgrade".

Having the FSM will help you handle pretty much anything that needs to be done.

No I bought from a private seller. Thanks for the FSM, putting it on a flash drive now.

I realize there are not a lot of FX vehicles out there compared to Toyotas for example plus they are relatively new which would explain why this forum is not very active. Is this about the most active forum out there for the FX cars?

I am really surprised these cars are not more popular, they are leagues above most everything in their class and dependable to boot, which can't necessarily be said about the American and German competition. When I went to our Infiniti dealership there were only about 3 or 4 other cars in for service, and only one service manager and one service advisor. :wtf2:

A lot of the FX activity gets posted in "General Chat", especially when it's a simple question. If we catch it in time, we move it into the FX forum.

We're probably the most active FX community on the web, and we're actually in the process of bringing on a dedicated FX Moderator - THEN you'll see the activity jump. With that said, it's always nice for our regular members to tell their friends about the community, especially if you've gotten useful assistance here. :)

Any possibility of you posting up a new thread with some pics of your FX?

I was planning to take some pics and post them but shouldn't I put them on the picture sticky?

Either place is fine... sometimes, people like to have their own thread (for discussion and such). :)
