Is it worth getting the cabin fliter replaced? or is it just a waste of money??

You don't need to replace it until air flow appear ot have reduced out of you vents. You also could remove it altogether... and then it would never need replacing.

It just removes dust and pollen from the air comming from outside the car. Without it... it will be like every other car built before around '98 when they started adding these to cars.

Although our Versa only has 5k miles at this point and is not due for replacement, our Sentra and Mitsubishi Galant GTZ both have them, and after 12-15k miles, they are absoluely filthy and clogged with dirt, leaves and bugs. The first time I replaced them I was astounded how much it collected.

It's easy to replace, so I'd suggest you do it as recommended.

I only had my car about two weeks and we had all the Wild Fires in California last year so I pulled mine about a month after the fires to check it beacause it still had that Smokey smell when I used A/C or the fan and it was filthy!So it just goes to show you it might not take long at all...
