Cabin Blower Problem

Hello all, I have a 2001 Maxima SE. The blower quit while I was driving the other day. It seems that the blower resistor "burned out," that is, the wire plug going in to the resistor is slagged. No fuses were blown that I could find, and the motor/fan itself seems fine. Would replacing the resistor and the wire plug solve my problem? Is this likely the only problem, or a symptom of some other wiring/relay defect? The air doesn't work at all at any setting. Any advice you all may have would be greatly appreciated as it is staring to heat up here and I'm gonna need that AC! Thanks!
