Lately and with increased frequency I am getting a single tone alarm lasting 5 seconds with no dash or screen indication as to what it is for? It occurs shortly after starting out even with the seatbelts fastened. It used to occur every once in a while even 45 minutes to an hour into a drive, now it is almost daily and becoming nearly every startup?

Any ideas?

sounds like the low tire pressure alarm I sometimes get..did you check the tire pressure display? (although it is usually accompanied by the low-tire warning light on the speedo cluster).

I have had low pressure warning indications on the dash itself and on the display at every startup since I brought the car home basically, around 3-4 months ago. Generally the display says flat tire but does not indicate the pressure with pound numbers, only ** for each tire, and every once in a while I will actually comment to my wife "Hey, look it's showing digits right now!"

I of course check the tire pressures regularly and they are fine, but I hadn;t started receiving they warning alarms until recently? Can I somehow disconnect a fuse for the TPMS?

Thanks!

just to be clear- you know you have to drive a short distance (at about 15mph or more) before the pressures will display, right?

anyway, it does sound like you may have a TPMS problem..sorry, don't know how to disable it.

(btw, when I have low pressure alarm, it also turns the lower half of my LCD display kind of a greenish yellow...weird )

I'm not sure what sets it off- there may be an absolute lower limit (I think 28psi?), or if one tire is "X" psi lower than the others? (or some combination of these?)

good luck
