OK, US guys [and maybe other Canucks]: went for a CAF the other week and they were out [believe it or not]; went back today and they had one . . . for 68 buck$$$. Is this right? How much have you been paying?

$24USD. Maybe they were quoting installed, since you have to take out the glove box?

The dealer usually quotes around 90 to do it because of the labor required, but the filter itself should cost you no more than $25-30 bucks at max!

Parts Counter. $68 "and change", plus 13% tax.

The old one is staying in a bit longer. EbayCanada won't let me in, either, so can't check there.

Getting better: $43.95 at a different dealership. I'll keep looking . . . and maybe find someone going to the States to pick one up for me!

Here in Québec the cabin filter is 28$ but over 100$ with the install. (WTF) It will take me 20 minutes to do it).

The engine air filter is 11$ but 29$ installed. (WTF my lil sis' can change it herself lol)

I noticed the Nissan dealer here try to rip us off with all the maintenance fees. Bunch of idiots. They will change the oil and that's about it.

I'll do the rest.

I'm with you on the exorbitant labour charges. May call over to Gatineau to find out a price.

here is another possible option:

http://www.amazon.com/TYC-Cabi...r=8-1

i haven't purchased this brand for our versa but i did purchase this brand for my mustang and it fit perfect.

don't know if they ship to canada...

i have replaced the cabin filter once and got it from the dealer for $21 US after tax.

I changed ours last weekend, and it took less than 10 minutes.

Got the filter here for $8.18 plus shipping. It's a TYC brand and is duplicate of OEM.

I actually bought 3 filters for all our cars for less than $30 shipped. Fast shipping, excellent vendor.

OK . . . who lives in Syracuse or vicinity? $25 shipping to Canada, plus border taxes, plus border fees of $20 doesn't make it worth while!

I haven't had this changed, but my dad said he would do it himself. From all the posts about oil filters and stuff it seems like they charge alot at the dealer. Right now I get free oil changes for the first year (4 oil changes) ... Last week they told me to have my tires rotated ($20+tax)

However, my dad said he can do that as well, plus change the air and cabin filters.

For an oil change at my dealer it is $40 + tax (plus they check tire pressure, fluid levels, etc) ... That I don't mind paying for, but the rest of the stuff seems like a rip off ???

a tire rotation for $20 is pretty standard. but i do it myself.

the filters from the dealer are very expensive. i finally found a store that has the engine air filter in stock. $20 at the dealership, yikes!!
