ok here goes i dont think they made the ca20de i thought it was only the ca20e in the stanza and early 200sx. anyway yes you can put a ca18 head on a ca20 im in the process of embarking in this project. first problem you will encounter is that the head bolts from the ca18 dont fit on the ca20 block here you can get a machine shop to redrill and retap so that the head bolts can fit. The CA20 uses a smaller diameter headbolt than the CA18DEThe CA20 runs the treads up flush to the blocks deck. The CA18DE sinks the holes deeper and the treads don' start until several millimeters down into the hole, it's oversize above the threads. The CA20 does not have an idler, the CA18DE does but there is a location on the 20 block that can be drilled and tapped for it.The CA20 belt is shorter than the CA18 but, and the tooth profile on the belts are completely different. The CA20 is a flat cog whereas the CA18DE is a sloped tooth. so you have to get a custom belt but its not impossible. im sure once i start on it ill be more knowledgable about it. oh the other thing is if you are going turbo you might as well do pistons and rods coz the ca20 has weak internals to be boosted to good hp ranges. just my 2 cents
