Alright, I got a quick question, will a CA18ET transmission work in place of a CA18DET transmission, or is there and other trannys I can use, I know I can use a KA24 one, but the bellhousing has to be changed. Oh and if it can work, does any know where I can get one? Thanks Mike

The CA18ET and CA18DET are the same size and bolt pattern but the det transmission is stronger and more refined.

Yup, my friend is running a ca18et transmission. transmission is shorter so the shifter is more forward so you will have to cut the shifter hole bigger. Need a longer driveshaft too.

custom... I didn't realize they were different lengths? Do you use the same transmission mount and crossmember?

Sean

*EDIT* could you use the CA18ET bellhousing, and a KA transmission? Would that solve the lenght and shifter location issues?:)

Good question. I suppose using the ca bell housing with ka transmission would work.

I'll have to take a look at davids car again.

If the transmission is too short, how does the crossmember line up?
