I was just wondering, will the ca18et motor bolt into a s13 chassis?

also are the bottom ends on the dohc motor the same as the sohc motor and if so, is it possible to put a dohc head on the sohc block?

The bottom end isnt as strong as on the det, the block doesnt have oil squirters, and the head sucks. You can do it if you want, but you'd be better off with the dohc ka honestly.

Okay that said, will it bolt up to the s13 w/o major modifications ie: motormounts, cross members, etc.

The reason I ask is, I have my hands on a ca18et motor, and I just need a motor to drop in my s13 until I get my ca18det motor done.

in that case, fire away. I dont know of anyone thats done it, but I dont imagine it could be very hard. It does use relatively the same block so the det motor mounts should do it for you.

that's all I wanted to know, I know it's not practical for that swap but I'd rather spend $300 on a ca18et than a ka24e, I'm planning on doing a ca18det in the future but I just need the car running asap.

If a ca18det will work in a s12 with no fitment mods, then I would imagine a ca18et would work in a s13.

In my S12, all I had to do was use the ca18et engine mount brackets, and keep the s12 transmission, since the s13 transmission is longer.Straight drop-in though........should be the same the other way around

Have you considered how you are going to run the CA18ET in the S13 chassis? The wiring between the two is very different.
