ca18det wont start!

hey guys i just recently pulled my ca18de out of my 89 silvia and put in the new ca18det but it wont start...
i am using the harness that came with the engine, along with the maf, ecu, and ignitor chip.
this is my first swap and ive done tons of internet research but still cant figure this out.
ANY tips, ideas, advice would be awesome! pls help

Are you getting Fuel/Spark? Have u checked those?

i havent checked yet, but when i turn my key forward it SHOULD click i would think.
my wiper blades work so i know there is power but not a sound from the engine bay

Be a little more descriptive about the no start. Is the engine cranking (ie; starter turning but it won't the engine won't fire up) or nothing at all happens when you turn the key?

After my first CA install the engine would crank but not turn over because I didn't connect the dropping resistor to the harness. If you still have issues check out a writeup I wrote about diagnosing a no start issue including checking DTCs, fuel and spark. It is for a KA but the idea is the same.

there is zero noise when i turn the key. ZERO. i have power to lights, wipers, etc, etc...
but coming from the engine bay as soon i turn the key to start there isnt even a click. usually youd here your starting clicking
even if it were pooched but there isnt the slightest sound.

When you turn the key does the pump prime?

i am getting fuel, i am also getting spark. there isnt much spark..but still spark. any other ideas??

You said when you turn the key nothing happens... so it isn't cranking? How are you getting spark then?

Assuming you got it to crank...

Check battery, and terminals. Make sure connections are tight and clean .

Check grounds.

Once you are sure everything is set electrically, make sure its not a timing issue. Do Ca18's have distributors? either way, make sure it's lined up correctly. (if this was a previously running engine then you probably can ignore this)

i am in the brutal process of finding a dropping resistor for the injectors, ill let ya know if that fixes it. cant find one anywhere, except through japanese catalogue, and that will only take 10 weeks from japland. so the search continues

Honda ones work and so do dsm. I bought mine for 20 bucks.

could you be a little more descriptive? do they both take modifing, and if so, what do i need to do? whhich years are the ones i can use. as much info as possible would be great haah
