I have a litte problem with Cold starting my ca18det. When the weather is hotter than about 15 degrees celsius, the engine idles very rough at about 800rpm (only when Cold), so it does not increase the revs when cold starting. But it also won't drive properly for the first few minutes under 2500rpm. It doesn't rev very well and you can hear the turbo spooling up from about 1200rpm. When hitting 2500rpm and above, the problems goes away completely and the engine runs smooth. It seems the problem goes away as soon as the coolant valve opens up and let the coolant cirkculate through the engine.
So here's the tricky part: When the weather is colder than about 15 degrees, no problems occurs at any time, the engine just runs smooth as butter.... What can cause these problems? The engine has about 60.000km, so it is not old and worn....
I am running nistune, and have read that othes have had problems with the ecu retarding the ignition when Cold, but then it should be making problems under 15 degrees aswell? Maybe the idle control is messed up? Please help
