The valve seals from nissan are real expensive. You can get a head rebuild kit from Advance auto parts for less and it comes with the seals.

i've replaced valvestem seals with a kit i got from autozone and they hold up fine. and i know i'm no mechanic but just by looking at the seals and replacing them, it doesn't seem like there is a whole lot to 'em so they'd be kinda hard to f up. sorta like a gasket.

yea its not like 100% of auto parts stores parts are going to be defected/break early but for a part that you have to do that much work for id pay extra for ease of mind that im using a proven peice

I did mine a few weeks ago. Easy job to do. I replace them with oem cause I bought a full engine gasket kit for a DE. Just make sure you have a valve spring compressor that ft the head. I just barrowed the one from work cause we have a CA specific one at nissan.

they sell a complete engine kit from AJUSA for like 100 bucks. Comes with valve stem seals.
