Just the opposite. You ALWAYS want your signal line for the wastegate to be as short as possible. If anything it might run slightly less boost than if you refrenced it to the manifold, as the pressure before the intercooler is generally slightly higher than after.

Does any one know what the color codes correspond to and what other uses for them?? I do have the emmissions equipment that came unattached from those ports. Also, one of those ports is used to read boost for my boost gauge.

Have you downloaded and looked at a copy of the FSM? This should all be covered in there. For the most part, most of us pulled that thing off and re-routed the vac lines. Regardless, maybe this will help. This is out of a Pulsar FSM, as the vac diagram isn't covered in the downloadable FSM because it doesn't cover the butterfly's. It's a UK FSM and none of the UK cars got them.

DUDe you dont neeed those lines you should eliminate that stuff no need for it just run a vac to your fpr Tee it to the other thing behind fpr for the indiv. butterflies in the intake fiind vac outlet on side of intake to run BOV and find source to run pressure for wastegate and dont BS around trying to break your haed on stupid stufff LIFES TO SHORT. iF YOU Need pics let me knoe ill show you how i did mine. I work for NIssan along with 4 other master Nissan technicians we have plent experience dealing with these engines let me know if you need help.

Other way around if you hook up the wastegate to the manifold. It delays the boost signal so if its for 7psi it'll go more. I have mine hooked up to my manifold until I get a MBC and my wastegate is set for 7psi but I get 10psi no creeps, spikes, consistant. So if the turbo produces 7psi and the intercooler creates a psi drop than the wastegate isnt getting 7 psi yet which means the turbo is going to produce more boost thus causing more boost.
