No not necessarily.

Before you do anything to any engine you should learn more about the engine from what other have done in the past. Read and study as much as you can first so then when you do act on your decisions you'll know what to do. Otherwise you'll be unhappy with the result. Good luck and remember to study, research and learn as much as possible.

if its your first car your moding, do the basic bolt ons first and you should be around 200whp and see how that is. Then once you have all of those done upgrade the turbo or do it all at once.

Basics needed for GT28R (s15, S14 T28)

-Upgraded fuel pump, Walbro pref

-Fuel pressure regulator for the walbro pump.

-bigger injectors 444cc GTR work well for the price

- Piggy back controler to sort out the injectors (safc-II)

-Turbo lines, I got Taka ones and they are nice so get those or Earls motor sport.

-Fab up a intake to work with the new turbo since your old accordian one wont work on it.

-turbo elbow and downpipe

-Boost controler of some type and boost gauge (7-8 psi)

These are the BASICS to safely run it, you dont NEED a catback or fmic but if you want to see gains you will want these to get rid of some back pressure and be able to run higher boost. But with those mods listed above you can safely run it and not worry. You could go the ghetto route but the one I showed will be the safest. Better to do it once right and not mess your engine up.
