Did a search couldn't find anything on this.

I've got a 1993 240SX coupe manual, that I am about to drop a CA18DET into. The front clip I bought was an auto, so I need to buy a transmission. I found a transmission with code CA71B on it. But I read that the transmission I need says CA71.

Anyone know which one is correct or if they will both work. I need the one for the turbo motor not the NA. I don't think the NA transmission will hold the power.

Thanks for the help!!!

Sombody has got to know this. I have been looking everywhere. Essentially I just need to know if this CA71B transmission I have found is the one from the DE or the DET.

Anyone with a CA18DET mind looking at their transmission to see what the code is?Thanks again!

hello, just go grab a transmission from a CA18ET out of a 1984 to 1988 nissan 200sx turbo. It should be strong enough to hold. nissan tends to over engineer things. why else would they put a Borg Warner T5 behind a L28ET in a 280zx with only 180hp??

i have one by my fathers house, i'll pop in and check it out, i should check him anyway. i'll post number tommorrow.

and i think the NA transmission is the same, the difference may be production years. f

Ncadam & ca19det,

When you say transmission you do mean transmission and bell housing or are you saying the the 200sx transmission will mount to the ca18det bell housing? Little bit of confusion sorry. Also will a ca16 na or ca18 na flywheel work on a the ca18det.

I know it's a lot of questions but its hard to find confirmation.

I know what you mean Josh. I have tried to do as much researching as I can to find this stuff on my own. But their seems to be alot of conflicting information involving certain things.

What I am looking for would be a code stamped on the bell housing.

from what I have read and researched, a CA20E flywheel will bolt on to a CA18DET crank, both are 8 bolt. the CA18ET is a 6 bolt design, go figure. :rolleyes but the clutches are the same between the CA20E and the CA18ET, both being 225mm, and according to a clutch manufacturer datsun/nissan 240Z thru 280ZX 2 seater clutches will bolt on to a CA flywheel. nissan had some issues in the earlyto mid 80's. I beleive ANY RWD CA series transmission will bolt up to one another. I am *pretty sure* they all share the same bellhousing.

don't trust what I say as far as you can throw a baby grand piano tho. good luck with the research.

Heard anything on this? I was told I could use a 88 Pulsar flywheel, and a 89 Maxima clutch with the CA18DET. What do you think?
