Ok guys and gals, searched in the ca forum a bit for some info on the swap into a s13 hatch. Was just curious as to how tough it is. Does it work with the stock engine mounts? What about the Ca transmission working with the s13 rear end? Anything difficult about it, like hard to find parts needed? My interest has peaked recently regarding this engine, and am seriously considering buying one, just wanted some info first. Its either the CA or the SR for swaps, or a turbo for the Ka24de. Thanks.

CA swap is 99% the same as the SR swap.

really? Sorry if these questions seem really stupid, but my knowledge of the CA is basically 0, lol. Im just starting to learn about them now, long way to go. So if it is the same as the SR swap, then i would just need a rad, rad hoses, minor wiring, and exhaust? Does the KA exhaust bolt up to a CA downpipe? What is the stock horsepower of the CA18det, whats the stock boost? Compression #'s? Thanks for your speedy reply too.

The radiator is about the only difference. You can use the KA radiator and hoses. CA is 175hp in stock form.

i saw a dyno showing just putting on the SR's t25g, still on stock boost, makes the ca ~190hp at the crank.

Mention you also need ca mounts, whether they came off the clip, or you buy Nismo's.

Shouldnt you know since you have a ca18det? IF the engine isnt vibrating when running then it should be alright? But, it would be nice to have brand new mounts.

It has nothing to do with vibration. NISMO mounts actually make the car vibrate a little at idle. The KA mounts just make the drivers side of the motor sit up a tad too high. Doesn't put the motor in its natural "gangsta lean" position.

ok guys, good info so far. How about the driveshaft, I take it there is no problems bolting up to the KA driveshaft? How about the wiring? I know the SR swap wiring is easily found, but ive never heard about the CA swap wiring that needs to be done. Im seriously considering this engine, once i get more used to it, for a swap into my s13 hatch. It would be a daily driver so nothing to crazy will be done.

stock KA drive shaft fits in fine. i think theres like a cover on CA transmission you need to swap for the KA one (i think) but other than that the drive shaft fits in fine.

i dont know anything about wiring so i cant help you there
