I recently had a 180sx imported to the states with a ca18det. Digging around I found out it has hks cams and is running on a s14 sr20 ecu with a daughter board. I've been having an issue when I try to adjust the CAS timing. The timing pointer is no where near the timing marks. I'd say it's about an inch past the marks when my timing light flashes. If I retard the timing to get it closer to the marks it runs like crap. Advance it and it smooths out. I did a full tune up including a new timing belt and timing belt pulleys. I put in splitfire coils with the new coil harness. Still the same. Car was an auto converted to manual in Japan. Not sure if that matters. The car pulls hard and doesn't sound like its having any detonation. Runs a little rich but I'm guessing it's from the tune. Maybe someone can help me out. Thanks
