I have the instructions on how to install (teeth count) a timing belt for a CA16DE, but need to put a belt on a CA18DET. Is the installation method the same? If not can anyone help?thanx.

Just make sure you are on tdc compression stroke #1 cyl.The piston in #1 cyl. at top. Make sure the dowel pin for the cam shaft is straight up through the center line of the crank and cam shafts. This is because the engine sits at an angle. If you are installing a new belt it should have white marks on it for cam and crank marks. The long or slack side of the belt goes to the tensioner side. There are timing marks on the cam and crank gears to line up the timing marks.
