Would a KA24DE throttle body bolt up to a CA18DET? If not are there any that would?

It sure will. I have one on mine right now. Well, it isn't technically on the engine because it is disassembled, BUT I do use one.

You will need to dremel out the intake manifold a little to match the plenum inlet to the throttle body because it is slightly larger than the stock CA one, but other than that no problems. Also, you might need to flip it upside down (you have to with one of the KA throttle bodies, I forget which one) but it will not give you trouble. Good luck!

from what ive read you have to flip the ka24e tb, but the ka24de seems to fit just fine, also its a good idea to swap your tps as well.

Thanks dude, I found a completely bone stock s13 with a KA in it, I want to swap a CA18DET into it. What would you recommend modding on the CA before I swap?

why are you choosing a CA? This is an old engine and could have problems and will most likely need repairs. Just be sure the CA is the best choice for you and your expectations.

To answer your question though, the KA24DE TB fits with dremeling needed for the manifold. throttle pulley swap is also needed and some other fab work to that.

thats a very good question to ask yourself, why do you want it?

cuz if your reason is its cheaper then an sr then do not do this swap.

My reason is that it's cheaper, I just want a turbocharged engine and the RB swap is out of my price range right now. The fact that it's old isn't a problem, OBD1 vehicles are really simple to work on, I thought about just buying a turbo kit for the KA but I opted for an engine swap, close to the same cost.
