Hey, if I were you man, I would look into motor design and building in general. I got a start on farm motors as a kid, and had no trouble learning a bit more to get in the turbo scene. The worst thing about working on a jdm motor(read, any motor not dime a dozen in the USA) is getting a spare part in a hurry if you break it or lose it. The CA18 is so simple to learn about, when I built on the procedures were the same as every other motor. Disassemble, clean, spec, cut and polish, measure for bearings, test fit motor, disassemble, reassemble and final torque. Then gaskets and outer pieces and voila!
