So im installing a super sun tach 2 cus the stock s12 tach wont work with the tach signal, so i was wondering do i just spice off the yellow/red tach wire going to the back of the ecu and connect it to the signal wire on the tach?

if the Super Sun Tach 2 is anything like the Autometer gauges, you'll need some sort of adapter/converter that will convert the tach signal to use an aftermarket tachometer gauge.

So for all aftermarket tachs do I need the adapter for it to work with the ca18det signal or is ther others that I can buy and just wire up?

i think the Blitz tach's (for example) can be wires up directly..but im not 100% sure on that.
