My first CA had about 100,000 km's on it... but my new one has under 40k. it all depends:( but I'd say most CA's will need rebuilds if you want to make real power. These engines are at least 13 years old, some are older!

100,000 kms sean? What were you thinking? No wonder it flopped on you. But anyways, once again, KEEP YOUR CAR MAN. I do the same thing as you, exept I really have a 4 sell sign on my car and I put 5500 obo...Just waiting for some rich dork to come along and give me 5k cash or something. Then tat, right there, buy the sickest 93 or 94 coupe, put in the other ca, or wait for a blacktop(or rb25??...), haha, and then slap on a silvia front...Then still, have a g or so left over. Hey, I can dream can't I?

gas mileage?! i have NONE i dont get "miles per gallon" i get gallons per mile. using half a tank of gas going a maximum of 20 miles on friday night...rediculous. i give it 30% throttle to 2800rpm and this is what i get!?! oh well, its only 40 bucks a week.

i love my CA despite all the problems it gives me, id be reluctant to drop any other engine in my 240sx now that ive had the pleasure of driving it with the CA. it may only have 175hp stock, but i can guarantee that there is no way in hell you will be able to install it in bone stock form, itll at least be breathing easier.

mileage wise, mine just had its 25th birthday, hehe. (25k miles) it had 23 or so when i got it. never touched the inside of the engine when i dropped it in, but i did replace all the pumps/alternator/various electronics/turbo when i did the swap. i guess that counts as a rebuild. runs fine except for some little problems, goes like hell and never fails to do so.

its also unkillable, it has this amazing will to live. ive run it completely out of oil twice and ran it without coolant for a good hour and it still runs fine. im not that much of an idiot, despite how that may sound. im dumb but there were certain circumstances that made these events happen. hope my incoherent rambling in some way helped you, if not, oh well, i tried..i think.

Try this with everso popular SR20 and you will hate life;) .

I don't have any verified mileage on mine, but I think it had over 100,000 km on it and it run's like a raped ape. I went to KC last weekend and took my kill list up to an 01' Lude, Civic Si, Blown GSR Teg, and a 5.0 Mustang w/CAI. I did lose to a stripped civic hatch w/a B16 w/headers, dump pipe, exhaust, ecu, LSD, and stage 3 clutch. I don't think he had cams... yet. That was all at stock boost on the CRAPPY oil leaking T25. Just about everyone w/a CA on here can verify the crapacity of the stock turbo. But they'll also tell you that this motor is friggin awesome...

I really haven't spent much at all... My old motor is basically completely apart, but has not been rebuilt yet. And I work at Nissan, so my rebuild cost would be roughly half that of most people:)

Ray (drumma022) has a bada$$ CA in his s14. Probably one of the highest hp CA's on this boards (roughly 400whp)... it all depends on what you want to do!

If you're just rebuiling to refreshen the motor, it shouldn't exceed a $1000, but if you're builing for performance, open the wallet for Thanksgiving feast. My built motor cost me around $4k and that's just for internals such as Wiseco pistons, Pauter rods, JUN cams, JUN solid lifters, HKS cam gears, NISMO headgasket, ARP head studs and main bolts, new oil pump, new water pump, new timing belt and so forth. Don't even ask about the cost of the custom intake manifold, the custom turbo manifold, the turbocharger, the wastegate, the boost controller, etc, etc and all that exceeds $3k in which most I got the best deals possible. So it all depends on how far you're willing to go. I decided to go all the way minus stainless steel valves.
