ok i just got dont installing a ca18det into a 93 240 and it won't idle or even rev up with the intercooler piping hooked up ( fmic ). when you take one of the piping off then it will idle and rev up ok. theres nothing blocking air from the hot pipe through the intercooler to the tb. just has me stumped. need help. Rob

Check if you have any vac leaks. that could be it.

AFM issues or wiring issues. Did you hook-up the hose that runs from the idle control section that runs inline with the fast idle solenoid hose? That hose needs to be hooked-up to the intercooler piping, if you didn't do that.

how on earth does it rev up once the IC piping is removed? are you running a blow through maf?

otherwise I would think the maf is your issue.

maybe pictures of on and off would help us diagnose

Good point! Maybe he acidentally stumbled on a speed density mod?
